A few weeks ago we announced that Cherry was to play one of the Sweet Sensations in the Vision Of Elvis production show touring theatres all over the country which included a flying visit over to Ontario, Canada where they performed in Bancroft's Ice Hockey Arena last weekend.

Says Cherry, "I'm loving this new opportunity that i've been given in this high energy show. Being an Elvis fan and of course being over to Memphis several times including trips to Graceland and Tupelo, Mississippi to Elvis's childhood home, really brings memories back of that wonderful place every time I hit the stage with the guys. The band are fantastic, three members of which I already knew and what's worked out as a lovely coincidence is I sing the Dan Penn/Spooner Oldham penned Sweet Inspiration in the show and I actually met Dan and hung out with him last year in Muscle Shoals, Alabama so it's an honour to sing his song!"

There's various dates throughout this year so take a look at the tour page if this sounds like your bag if you're an Elvis fan and simply a lover of that fantastic musical era. There are a handful of shows with Cherry's band this year but as Cherry takes time out to pursue other musical projects, it won't be until 2018 now that Cherry will concentrate on her music full time with a planned release and tour.

Take a look at the photo collage below from Cherry's recent trip out to Canada and as always you can get daily updates on her Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages.

Lots been going on in the Cherry camp since she returned from her four month world tour, mainly Cherry getting settled back into home life, catching up with family and friends and not having much of a rest as May saw her performing with her band from a double headline show at The Stables with Dani Wilde to selling out Luton's Bear Jazz & Blues Club, to packed out theatres on three of Think Floyd's summer tour, and shows with Del Bromham and his Blues Devils too.

Thanks to Trev Earl for the shots below from The Stables.

Thanks to all who came out to Cherry's shows in Basingstoke, The Stables, Luton and Lincoln. Keep an eye on the tour page for more UK shows, more being added all the time.

Exciting news to announce, Cherry will be touring on a few dates throughout the UK, Ireland and Canada as part of A Vision Of Elvis production show. Cherry's valuable experience in Memphis and the Tennessee music scene over the years will no doubt come in useful, more on this soon but dates are on the gig page and as always you can follow along on Cherry's Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages for daily updates.

Cherry has been writing while she's been on tour and is itching to get back in the studio so stay tuned for a news of a new album and accompanying DVD release in 2018.

Keep cool in this scorchin' heat wave we're having and if you're anywhere near Broadstairs, come on down to the Wrotham Arms Blues & Roots Night tonight (Tue June 20) to watch Cherry's trio play some hillbilly blues!

While Cherry was overseas on her recent jazz tour she met US artist Zach Winningham on her travels while they were both in Bermuda, sharing a love for country music and legendary songwriters, Zach invited Cherry to join him on stage during his set to sing the Carole King classic, 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.'

Enjoy the footage below.

Cherry has a double page feature in November's issue of Blues In Britain magazine where you can read all about her recent encounter in Muscle Shoals, Alabama along with photos too. You can grab a copy right here, enjoy and here's the opening lines...

"Sweet home Alabama. Where the skies are so blue, there's not a drop of liquor, and the mayor presents me with a free Bulldogs Alabama visor because i'm British. And a musician. And cute apparently. Hell yeah...I can always go to Mississippi for a beer later..."

Cherry has just returned from her 6th trip to the USA spending time with her Mississippi musicians as well as travelling to areas she had been meaning to visit for some time including hippy Haight Ashbury in San Francisco, the natural wonders of Yosemite National Park, horse riding in Monument Valley and camping in Sedona, Arizona. She was invited to Alabama towards the end of her trip where she met up with Kelvin Holly, guitarist with Little Richard and Pegi Young (Neil Young's wife). Kelvin played with Cherry at the 2010 Howlin' Wolf Festival in West Point Mississippi and his wife owns the former Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, now known as Cypress Moon Studios, they're pictured below.

Cherry is set to record next year in Muscle Shoals, this time she was making new friends and contacts and soaking up the incredible history made in the one and only Muscle Shoals. She also got chance to go to Fame Studios and also to meet legendary songwriter Dan Penn who has had countless hits over the years including The Commitment's Dark End Of The Street and Aretha Franklin's Do Right Woman, Do Right Man. It was quite a day in Alabama!

There's been almost 4000 views in less than three days of Cherry's stunning performance of Clare Torry/Pink Floyd's phenomenal Great Gig In The Sky. Cherry has been working with Think Floyd, Britain's premier Pink Floyd tribute and has appeared on various dates with them since November last year.

Very happy new year to you all!

Lots has been going on over the last couple of months, while November saw Cherry - as well as shows with her own band - guesting with Del Bromham of Stray once again, she also was asked to sing Great Gig In The Sky with the UK's finest Pink Floyd tribute band; Think Floyd. (This meant a great deal to Cherry to be asked to sing that monster song and she received high praise), early December saw her taking off again on her travels on another jazz tour which she is almost halfway through.
So far Cherry has visited Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Canary Islands and some of the Caribbean Islands. She is currently in South America heading to North America then over to Norway, returning to Blighty April 6th.

Keep an eye on the tour page for 2016 dates, Cherry is likely to be out of the country for most of the year on more jazz projects so catch her in the UK while you can! There are some festivals over the summer confirmed too so we hope to catch you at one of those.

We also hope to capture jazz footage over the next few weeks to upload onto Cherry's YouTube page as well as on here so you can see exactly what she's up to!

You can watch it right here.

On the night they were joined by special musical guests; Lee Vernon on blues harp, Flo Flowers on double bass (while Robbie Stewart-Mathews recovers in hospital after stomach problems) and Rob Bond on pedal steel.

Cherry with BBC Radio Suffolk presenter, Stephen Foster after the show

Well if you were there to witness it, what a night Tuesday 28th April was! Cherry and her full band opened up once again for their good friend, Mud Morganfield; Muddy Waters' eldest son at the prestigious Jazz Cafe in Camden.
Cherry went on tour with Mud back in 2011 and has played numerous festivals with him since including Isle of Man’s Big Wheel Blues Festival in 2012 so it was an obvious choice as to who should open up for Mud on the opening night of his UK tour.

Says Cherry, "Another proud night sharing the stage with Mud and I was very excited he asked me to join him on his last number, he sure got my mojo workin'! I also loved being on that Jazz Cafe stage again. The first time was back in 2003 when I was performing my r'n'b material, then 2012 guesting with Bernie Marsden, and now finally with my own band so it was a very special night. Thanks to everyone for being there and sharing it with us and to the Jazz Cafe and Mike Hellier for looking after us so well. Until next time!"

Enjoy the pics below thanks to Jennifer Noble.

Cherry has played onstage with Walter and opened up for him numerous times in the past and on the night will be guesting with Stray. They are due onstage at 9.15pm.

It's nearly time for Cherry's new album to drop! Next week in fact, don't forget you can still pre-order Catch My Drift right here where on doing so you will receive an exclusive track not available anywhere else.

The album launch is NEXT Friday 18th - Good Friday at Holy Moly's in Bedford Esquires, Bromham Road at 8pm.

In the meantime, have a watch of the video below of Cherry in the studio talking about Catch My Drift and we'll see you at the launch!

Cherry Lee Mewis has a story to tell. She has something to say, and she tells it through her music, her way.
The 5ft-nothing, power-house singer songwriter has grabbed the musical bull by the horns, and together with her long time co-writer and guitarist Max Milligan, has produced her most personal album to date; Catch My Drift - a 10 track, hair-raising declaration of refreshing honesty. This album takes the teasing hint of vulnerability of 2012's Heard It Here First, and the quirky puns and energy-a-plenty vibe of last year's Cherry Pickin' EP, then pushes the boundaries even further, taking in the best of musical influences while still keeping that elusive Cherry Lee Mewis treatment that gives the record a real punch.

“Catch My Drift is the name of my new album because I really want people to connect with me and get just what i'm saying, hear my story. I really grew up on this record...just going through life's progressions," explains Cherry. "The writing on this record has evolved from my previous recordings and fans will find a flavour of something different, I haven't changed too much but if this is the first record of mine that someone buys then it's a great album to learn more about me too."

With this new release Cherry has reinvented herself artistically yet stayed true to the classic Cherry Lee Mewis sound which is the 'stay true to who you are', good time, fist-pumping, barn-burning songs that her audiences have come to love.

"I try to write both lyrics and music of at least two or three songs on each record totally by myself, because I want to keep digging and finding that close connection to telling my story in my music, so i picked up my guitar and dug deep! Once again Max my co-writer and guitarist of 9 years totally helped bring my vision to life. In fact it's our vision and I feel so blessed to have him around me and great people like my band too, we're family."

"I've always been honest in my songwriting but with this album I feel i've really dug in deep and touched on subjects that people don’t usually talk about. First and foremost, I just wanted to write about things that I really knew about – subjects that hit close to home and I just took the time I needed to make this record. I know who I am musically and that is so important."

CATCH MY DRIFT is available to pre-order now (link below) and you will receive an exclusive bonus track that isn't available anywhere else, as well as a signed copy of the new release before the album launch which will be held Friday 18th April at 8pm at Holy Moly's, Bedford Esquires, 60a Bromham Road, Bedford.

Cherry's fourth studio album, still untitled at this stage will be launched on Good Friday - Friday 18th April - at Cherry's home venue, Bedford Esquires in the Holy Moly's acoustic room.

You are all formally invited! There will be special guests and all the new album tracks will be performed and no doubt some favourite tracks too from previous albums! And of course the new album will be available to buy that evening.

More info on the tracklisting and snippets of the new album coming very soon as well as that all important title and front cover too. You will also be able to pre-order the album from next month and in doing so will receive an exclusive track that won't be available anywhere else.

We'll see you at the launch! Friday 18th April, get it in your diaries!

Well after a rockin' weekend at Skegness Rock n Blues Weekend where Cherry was guesting onstage with Stray, we are excited to inform you that Cherry will also be performing with Stray at next weekend's Giants of Rock Festival at Butlins Minehead.

Pictured below is Cherry onstage at the weekend at Skegness thanks to Andy Law. We'll see you at Giants of Rock!

Well it's that time of year again where we've done some reflecting here at Cherry Jam Camp and agreed that 2013 was indeed a great year for Cherry. From performing all over the UK again at many festivals, art centres and venues, to recording at Abbey Road with Bernie 'Whitesnake' Marsden. Performing at Silverstone British Grand Prix again in front of a 8,000 something strong crowd, to performing alongside Ronnie Wood and Van Morrison at BluesFest at the Royal Albert Hall. Releasing new EP Cherry Pickin' back in the summer, to many more positive magazine reviews and radio plays all around the world. 2013 has been on to remember!

Says Cherry, "There have been many highlights of this year and as ever I continue to be thankful to have the best of the best on my team; my band who are truly at the top of their game and who are my musical family, another year with them is my highlight. I've also enjoyed working with Bernie Marsden again this year and guesting with Del Bromham of Stray too which has seen me open up for Mott The Hoople with him back in November. As ever, i'm genuinely excited to see what next year will bring. 2014 is already looking exciting. We've got a new album to put out and lots more cities to play in. I'll be returning to the US and performing with my Mississippi band too. As ever, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support, whether coming to gigs, buying my CD's, emailing requests to national radio stations, thank you for it all! You've come this far with us, you may as well stay for the best is yet to come! Happy New Year everyone, let's make it another to remember!"

What's left to say is thanks once again for all your support in 2013, we'll see you in 2014 and Cherry will be releasing her new album in the Spring. She's also on Bernie Marsden's new album Shine due out March 17th. As ever, check the gig dates to see  where you can see Cherry and her band in 2014!

Well what a week it's been! Last Monday saw Cherry guesting with Del Bromham & Stray, of who's new album she's on, opening for Mott The Hoople on the first night of their sell out tour at Birmingham Symphony Hall to a crowd of over 2000 happy rock and rollers! The rest of the week saw Cherry guesting with Bernie 'Whitesnake' Marsden on three of his only UK dates left this year at Wolverhampton, Derby and rounding off with a sold out show at The Stables in Wavendon, Milton Keynes last night.

Cherry is also on Bernie's new album, Shine which is out next March and will see a bigger tour taking place featuring Cherry.
It sure has been a rockin' week! Enjoy the photo collage below, and if you were at any of the shows, Cherry would love to see your pics and hear from you! Get in touch either here or via Facebook or Twitter.

Well, they did it! Cherry and her band performed a blindin' set last week at the Royal Albert Hall part of BluesFest to a very appreciative audience that demanded two encores!
Cherry also got to meet and hang out with Mick Taylor and they got to witness Ronnie Wood's soundcheck in the main Hall which was going on minutes before they hit the stage themselves in the Cafe Consort.

Says Cherry, "Wow what a day we had. We all had a total blast and i'd never been to the Albert Hall before so it was pretty special to finally get there and play there too! Not lying, would have loved to have jumped onto that main stage though! One day i'll get on it! Huge thanks to the guys at Live Nation and the BluesFest team for asking us to be a part of this growing festival. Huge thanks to our audience too who stayed with us right through to the end of our set. despite other performances going on. Onwards and upwards!"

Enjoy the montage of pics below, more to see on Cherry's Facebook page right here.

Catch Cherry on tour next week with Bernie Marsden, and she's also playing a one off show with Del Bromham, opening up for Mott The Hoople next Monday at Birmingham Symphony Hall! More details on the gig page.

Yes, that's right. Cherry and her band are back in the studio working on album number 4, due out next year. They are about a third of the way through so still in early stages but reports are that so far, it's going extremely well with the new material sounding stronger than ever.

More news as it comes in, in the meantime, enjoy the studio photos below!

It's fair to say that we're all very excited here at CherryJam camp about Cherry and the band's recent addition to the all star billing of BluesFest London which this year takes place at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall from Tuesday 29 October – Friday 1 November. This is the first full-scale music festival of its kind to be hosted at the venue, with performances taking place not just in the main auditorium, but also in other spaces around the Hall during the daytime.

In the evening there will be two concerts each night, taking place in the early and late part of the evening in the main auditorium. Headliners include Robert Plant, Van Morrison, Bobby Womack, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Chris Rea amongst others. BluesFest will also celebrate the music of the recently departed legend, Bobby Bland - this promises to be an unforgettable evening with an all-star line-up on Friday Nov 1st which indeed includes Cherry on this date, performing at 3.45pm in the Cafe Consort.

For more info about BluesFest, visit the official site right here. We'll see you there!

We're excited to let you know that Cherry is featured in the very first issue of Classic Rock Presents Country Magazine which hits shops later this month but is available to pre-order now. Cherry has a half page feature on page 16 and Sounds Like Heaven To Me, taken from the new EP Cherry Pickin', is on the covermount CD, and there's also a rather glowing review of Cherry Pickin' in the reviews section too.
Is this possibly where Cherry's new music is heading I hear you asking?! With a new album due out in 2014, could Cherry be the newest country blues star? You'll have to wait and see, for now, pick up a copy of the new magazine; it's jam packed with artists including Johnny Cash, Wanda Jackson & Sturgill Simpson to name a few. It will be available from WH Smith next week, or you can pre-order here.

Last summer, Cherry and her bass player Robbie Stewart-Mathews, were asked by Del Bromham of Stray to guest on his forthcoming album, Nine Yards, which is now available to order.
It includes the duet between Cherry and Del titled What Goes Around, which features Robbie on harmonica and both of them also add their throaty vocals to several other tracks on the album. It is available to order now here from Amazon. Both Cherry and Robbie will be guesting with Del at his show with his band Stray at The Stables on Friday October 4 and at Birmingham Symphony Hall on Monday November 11 which is with Mott The Hoople and has already sold out. You can however still book tickets to see them at The Stables right here.

Robbie, Cherry and Del last summer recording on Del's new album, out now titled Nine Yards

Well it's been festivals and gigs galore over the scorching summer and we're delighted at Cherry Towers how well the new songs are going down with you lot and the new EP Cherry Pickin' has been selling very well indeed.

Cherry guested with Bernie Marsden when they headlined at Maryport Blues Festival a couple of weeks ago, pics below thanks to Tony Winfield. Cherry will be on tour with Bernie this November, dates are on the gig page, and is a guest artist on his new album due out next Spring.

Cherry and the band had a fantastic set last weekend at their fourth Cambridge Rock Festival appearance where they managed to fill the Stage 2 marquee at 11am Saturday morning! Lots of new faces to see them aswell and we've since heard that Cherry and the band gathered one of the biggest crowds over the whole weekend out of the 100 or so bands that played. Check out pictures and footage below thanks to Roger Allen and Neil McCarty. The song in the video is Meet Me At The Station which is taken from the new EP Cherry Pickin'.

Cherry also guested with Del Bromham later that day, they performed the duet they recorded together on Del's new album, Nine Yards due out this September.

Well she did it last year and she was back again to guest onstage with good friend Bernie Marsden last weekend at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone in front of a 10,000 strong crowd.

Cherry is guesting on Bernie's new album due out early next year, and will be performing on tour with him this November. Tour dates are on the gig page. In the meantime, enjoy the pics below thanks to Richard West and Dan Bull.

You may have read on here that Cherry recently recorded at the world famous studios, Abbey Road last month with her good friend Bernie Marsden for his new album due out later this summer.

Cherry guests on two tracks and is not the only special guest on Bernie's new record as Joe Bonamassa and Don Airey are also making appearances, among others.
Cherry is also hitting the road with Bernie soon too so more info on that as it comes in. For now, enjoy the photos below and there's more to see on Cherry's Facebook page here.

It's now a year since Cherry performed in session for Paul Jones on his BBC Radio 2 show, did you know you can still listen back to one of the tracks Cherry and the band performed on the BBC Radio 2 website? It will be up there for a long while too yet so catch it when you get chance right here.

Cherry was invited down to Abbey Road Studios last night where her good friend Bernie Marsden is recording his new album due out this autumn, to guest on a couple of tracks.

"Fantastic experience walking through those famous doors and having the opportunity to record at the world's most famous recording studios! Pretty surreal and it's great to be involved with Bernie's new record. I had a sneaky listen to other tracks and BM fans, you won't be disappointed!"

We'll be sure to keep you updated with the progress of the release!

Yes, we totally didn't expect to have yet another track from last year's Heard It Here First album, put forward by Bob & Norm's Blues Show on GTFM for Best Original Song at this year's British Blues Awards after having two nominated last year. The song in question is He Wants More. Not all of the nominations for the other categories have been announced yet so keep an eye on the BBA website.

Please help Cherry by voting to get her to the final voting stage, just like she did last year with her Man Overboard track. We'll keep you posted and thanks again! You can vote right here.

Well it's been a bit quiet around here lately..or so it seems! Cherry and the boys have been taking a bit of a break, recharging the batteries and writing new material.
There are shows being added all the time to the gig list so be sure to keep an eye on that to see if they're coming to a town near you!
Says Cherry, "after a rollercoaster year last year, our set is so tight and it's great to see many people singing along to our songs at gigs and festivals, but we can't keep playing the same set forever, nor would we want to! So time for some fresh material to treat you with and to challenge us again! I've always wanted a studio in my own house, now I have one thanks to a certain someone (who it actually belongs to!) and we shall have a snippet of a new song for you guys to hear very soon, within the next few weeks i'd say. Til then, come see us at a gig!"

Here's a snap Cherry posted to her Facebook page last night of her at home in the studio -

More info on a possible new EP coming soon!

Wow, where did 2012 go...?!

And just like that, it's the end of another year. 2012 proved to be a great year for Cherry and the band, from the release of their third studio album; Heard It Here First in February, to being the 'Artist In Session' on Paul Jones' BBC Radio 2 show back in May, to successful appearances at over 9 festivals and Cherry being the guest artist on Bernie Marsden's summer tour.

"This year really has been our best yet," says Cherry, "infact every year has gotten bigger and better and 2012 will really stand out to me as being the year that we nailed our own sound, what with the release of the third album, there's nobody out there doing what we're doing and i'm proud of that. The guys in the band are all on fire, we're the tightest we've ever been and that's the result of the 5 years we've been playing together solidly. Onward and upwards! I can't wait to see what 2013 brings. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support - it really drives us and lets us know that we're doing something right! Stick with us though 'cause the best is yet to come!"

Cherry and the boys will be taking a well earned rest throughout January and most of February to write new material. There are a couple of gigs at the end of January and into February so make sure you take a look at the gig page. This is a good time for them to add new material to the already tight-as-a-gnat's-backside's setlist!

Thanks as ever for your support in 2012! SPREAD THE WORD and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Most recently, she took to the stage to belt out a couple of Whitesnake numbers at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix in front of no less than 16,000 up-for-it racing lovers! If anyone made it along to the gigs and has any pics or video footage, we'd love to see/hear! Drop us a line at info@cherryleemewis.com.

Those of you who didn't make any of the dates, the first set included Cherry singing 3 Whitesnake numbers acoustic with Bernie and Jim, and then the second set involved Robert Hart from Bad Company taking over on lead vocals and Cherry and fellow singer Marie Haywood on backing vocals. "I had a lot of fun with Bernie and the guys," says Cherry, "it was such a hoot and there'll be more coming up in the pipeline for sure. Silverstone was super cool, hope you enjoy the pics below!"

"I was absolutely buzzin' to record at the one and only Maida Vale studios with my boys!" says Cherry. "We were all fired up and raring to go and boy did we fill Studio 3 with ENERGY! Listening back to the mixes, we were made up that producer Paul Long, Mike the engineer and Jo the assistant engineer really captured our sound. I can't wait for you all to hear it on Paul's show on Monday 28th May!"

Last Tuesday 13th March saw Cherry join none other than Walter Trout onstage at The Boom Boom Club in Sutton. This was the second time Cherry's been invited on stage by Walter in less than a year, the last time being at The Stables last autumn following on from some support slots she did with her band back in 2010.

Enjoy the clip below where Cherry sang Walter's title track from his album, The Outsider...

Well it was all going on last Sunday 11th March at the one and only 100 Club in London where Cherry and the boys performed an hour set in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Nick Slater, Cherry's dobro player was on vacation so Julian Burdock from 24 Pesos joined the guys onstage for a few numbers. Joe McElderry, who is a fundraiser for TCT joined the Random Band onstage, as did Clare Free and they all helped raise nearly £1000, so well done to everyone involved and special thanks to Philip Hargreaves for putting this event on.

Enjoy the fantastic pictures below thanks to Harriet Armstrong!

This past weekend has seen Cherry join the one and only Bernie Marsden as one of his special guests at his two sold out shows at the newly refurbished Radcliffe Centre in Buckingham along with the fabulous slide-guitarist Michael Messer and Cherry's bass player, Robbie Stewart-Mathews also joined Cherry, Bernie and his acoustic band to play a mean blues harp!
Cherry performed favourites, Mercedes Benz & Proud Mary. Says Bernie,"I've met a lot of singers in my time, but there's not many that can sing like this girl..Cherry Lee Mewis."
"I'm very proud and honoured to be asked by Bernie, who is a musician I have upmost respect for, to be a part of his sold out shows with his fantastic acoustic band, in support of the re-opening of this beautiful venue. Well, well, well! What a year 2011 was! From performing at some of the biggest blues festivals in the UK including the Great British R'n'B Festival, Maryport Blues Festival, Cropredy Convention, a return trip to Shetland Blues Festival, touring with Robin Trower, Mud Morganfield, a guest appearance onstage with Walter Trout at The Stables in Wavendon, to flying back out to Memphis to perform at BB King's on Beale Street and the Market St Festival in Columbus, Mississippi with her US band, Cherry had a year to shout about!
A great end to 2011 was being personally asked by Paul Jones to perform with the house band at his annual Christmas charity show at Cranleigh Arts Centre on 20th December! Paul also got up and played harmonica with Cherry on 'The Man Next Door' which also had the fabulous Marcus Bonfanti join Cherry onstage too! See the pic below of Cherry backstage with Paul and Bernie Marsden from Whitesnake who also performed. Footage available to view here - http://youtu.be/2T6Ype281i0 thanks to Roger Allen.
